Student Scholarship


        For students interested in applying for the CALMS Scholarship:

CALMS wishes to support students studying in an area related to lake and reservoir limnology, ecology, or management and will present up to three $1500 scholarships in 2018. 

Eligible applicants must be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student in an accredited California, Arizona, or Nevada college or university. 

  • $1000 will be awarded to each winner in June, 2018.
  • $500 will be awarded at the annual CALMS conference in October, 2018.
  • up to $500 be will reimbursed for each winner's conference travel and lodging expenses

CALMS will also provide three to five runners-up with up to $300 toward travel and lodging expenses for attendance to the conference.  All winners and runners-up will have their conference registration fee waived.

The scholarship winners will have their research summaries (submitted as part of the application; see below) published in the CALMS newsletter and will be required to give a presentation at the annual meeting.  A committee consisting of academic and industry representatives will judge applications.  Individuals with a personal or institutional affiliation will not judge an applicant.
