Student Scholarship

CALMS wishes to support students studying in an area related to lake and reservoir limnology, ecology, or management and will present two $1000 scholarships in 2017.

The scholarship may be used to pay for education and/or research expenses. Eligible applicants must be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student in an accredited California, Arizona, or Nevada college or university.

  • $500 will be awarded to each winner in June 2017
  • $500 awarded at the annual CALMS conference to be held in Big Bear, California on October 12-13, 2017

CALMS will also provide up to $300 toward hotel and related travel expenses for attendance at the conference.

The scholarship winners will have their research summaries (submitted as part of the application; see below) published in the CALMS newsletter and will be required to give a presentation at the 2017 annual meeting. A committee consisting of academic and industry representatives will judge applications.  Individuals with a personal or institutional affiliation will not judge an applicant.
